HOW TO RETURN DRY CLAY TO NORMAL WORING ORDER WITHOUT REMOVING PASTIC BAG COVERING

I live in a small Island with a limited supply of clay and the quality is very poor; as a consequence I import my clay from Miami.

There are Caribbean countries with a good quality and supply of clay but the professional and commercial preparation is sadly lacking; plus it is easier to ship from Miami than from another Caribbean country

Because of time and shipping cost, it is better to import a substantial quantity of raw materials per shipment.

When I got sick in 2013 I had about 20 boxes of vacuum packed clay in my storeroom, which became hard like rock.

Tip
To bring rock hard clay back to normal for throwing or hand building; place the vacuum packed bag of clay as wrapped in the sealed plastic bag in a bucket of water that covers the bag of clay completely, leave to soak for about two days or until clay is back to the normal softness. You can then use your clay as normal.

Important -do not remove the sealed plastic bag from the bag of clay.
